クリスマス・イブはいつ？ーWhen is Christmas Eve?

クリスマス・イブのスペルは「Christmas Eve」で「eve」は元来eveningの意味を持っています。

すなわち、クリスマス・イブは”クリスマスの夜”ということになります。

また、クリスマスがいつからいつまでか。というと、12月24日の日没から12月25日の日出までです（※１）。

なので、今日12月24日の日没後が正に”クリスマスの夜”ということになります。

The spelling of Christmas Eve is “Christmas Eve,” and “eve” originally means “evening.”

In other words, Christmas Eve refers to “the night of Christmas.”

As for the duration of Christmas, it lasts from the sunset on December 24th to the sunrise on December 25th (※1).

So, after the sunset today, December 24th, it will officially be “the night of Christmas.”
